30 years ago, a great city long known as a capital of Old Eastern Region and an already existing State ( Old Anambra ) was pronounced “A New State” by then Head of State General Ibrahim Babangida. It assumed that the creation of Enugu State settled the injustice against a hardworking, honest and peaceful people ( Wawa ). I appreciate the sacrifices and efforts of our founding fathers.
From Military administrators to democratically elected Governors, our dear State has witnessed rapid development and peace, we are known as a peaceful and cultured people from inception, not the making of anybody nor any non existing zoning as always propagated rather it’s the wish of God Almighty, so we must begin to appreciate God always and not crediting it to any fabricated thing.
As our dear State clocks 30 today, it’s a golden opportunity for us ( Ndi Enugu ) to sincerely meditate on the journey so far and tell ourselves the truth to enable us make the best decision not only for us but for the future of our own State.
Enugu 2022/2023 and the propagated rallies: useful or useless?
For recent time now, it was a festival of political rallies, from Odimma Nsukka, Oganiru Enugu then Ife Emelumma, to majority of Ndi Enugu, all these are nothing but distraction.
The millions of Naira that have been squandered in the name of these rallies can go a long way in taking thousands of unemployed Enugu Youths out of the street or possibly rehabilitate/construct a particular kilometres of roads somewhere in our State.
Come to think of it, are they trying to dictate to our Governor what to do? these are same people who always parade the following statement;
“Ebe Gburu Gburu jere, kanyi ga eje” and I ask, why not wait for him to tell you people where to follow before coming up with all this distractions in the name of playing usual politics of sycophance and stomach infrastructure?
You are preaching a non existing agenda ( Zoning ), projecting a candidate to contest for Governor from a particular area that has produced Governor or Deputy Governor, does it mean it is only the LGA or Community that exist in that Senatorial Zone ? ( Who truly seeks for equity must come with clean hands ). “Let’s begin to tell ourselves the truth and nothing but the truth”, there was/is no zoning in our dear State.
Let me use a preferable word “Power Rotation”, let’s assume such exist in our dear State, has it not gone round the three Senatorial zones?
Enugu East Senatorial Zone has produced 3 Governors, Enugu North Senatorial Zone has produced 2 Governors while Enugu West Senatorial Zone has only produced 1 Governor, where is fairness?
All thanks to Chief Hyde Onuaguluchi for making the Enugu West Ife Emelumma rally to be the real Ife Emelumma, his speech truly represents Ife Emelumma. Posterity will always remember him for good.
To distractors, they can continue distracting themselves but they should always have it in mind that at the end, the will of God prevails.
Come 2022/2023, the choice of Ndi Enugu based on competence, proven capacity and capability will triumph over any fabricated propaganda or agenda.
