Any keen observer following the issues surrounding the Ajaokuta, Lokoja, and Koton-Karfe court judgment that favoured the Igala Kingdom would know that all is not well with certain Kogi East National Assembly representatives. It would not be wrong to say that they have betrayed the Igala nation as silence is often reminiscent of acceptance. The Igala representatives at the national level have continued to remain silent because their mouths have been shut by their paymasters and it is unfortunate and embarrassing.
Docility is the new order among Kogi East APC representatives as those elected into the National Assembly from the Igala extraction have been warned not to support Igala Kingdom in the ongoing Ajaokuta, Lokoja and Koton-Karfe landmark judgment and impending further legal tussle.
This is coming at a point the Igala nation needed them most. At a critical time like this, how can those who are supposed to confront challenges against the Igalaland keep mum? When the entire Igala nation looks united and happy over this just course, those representing us at the national level have chosen to pose as traitors.
It is a reproach and verboten for the Attah Igala to be at the war front and his children fold their hands and watch for selfish reasons. This is a big shame and pitiful. We have seen some careless attacks at the throne of the Attah and the Igala Kingdom from all angles. If these representatives don’t stand with the Kogi East now, when will they? What is the usefulness of those political offices?
The elected Kogi East APC members have mortgaged their constituents to godfatherism and attendant niferious interests. That is why Shabba Ibrahim of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) is boldly supporting but his counterparts in APC from Kogi East are mute and caged like cowards. This is a betrayal of the highest order and a regrettable development.
