Kogi Peoples Democratic Party PDP candidate in the last election Engr Musa Wada has congratulated, Governor Godwin Obaseki of Edo state on his second term election victory as governor of the state, on just concluded election in that state. In a statement, the former PDP candidate in Kogi state said the
re-election of Obaseki was a manifestation of the confidence reposed in him by the Edo people.
Engr Muss Wada maintained that having served his people well in the first tenure,he should use his second term to consolidate.
Engr Musa Wada said, Obaseki’s success at the polls is a reflection of his good and visionary leadership in the last four years. maintained that expectations are high, and as such he should remain focused despite all distractions. The Leader called on those that lost during the election to close ranks and work with Obaseki bearing in mind that the state is bigger than any individual, says he is optimistic that Obaseki will move Edo forward.
OBSERVERS TIMES earlier reported that Godwin Obaseki, candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), has been returned elected as the governor of Edo state.
He secured the highest votes in the governorship election which was held on Saturday.
Obaseki secured 307,955 votes across 18 local government areas while Osagie Ize-Iyamu, candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC), polled 223,619 votes.
The governor won in 13 local government areas while Ize-Iyamu, his closest challenger, won in five.
Total votes cast is 550,242 while the total number of valid votes in the election is 537,407, and rejected votes – 12,835.
After announcing the results from all the local government areas, the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) declared Obaseki winner of the poll.
Obaseki will officially begin his second term in office in November, 2020.
