Edo 2020: Tinubu Withdraw Support From Oshiomhole’s Candidate

The National leader of the All Progressives Congress, APC, Bola Tinubu it was gathered has directed the national Chairman of the party to present another Governorship aspirant that would replace Pastor Osagie Ize-Iyamu ahead of the Governorship primary election in Edo State which has been scheduled to hold on June 22, 2020.

The revelation came at the back of a private meeting between Tinubu and the embattled National Chairman of APC, Comrade Adams Oshiomhole which was held at the residence of Tinubu on Friday night in Lagos State.

Details of the meeting between the duo, remain sketchy, as at the time of filing this report, but, the leader of a pressure group, “Tinubu Grassroots Family (TGF)”, who kept vigil behind the door while the meeting lasted, hinted that the reason Tinubu and key leaders of the party decided to withdraw their support from Oshiomhole’s preferred Aspirant, Ize-Iyamu in the election, is due to his regular defection from one party to another.

He said the difficulty in supporting an aspirant that is neither consistent nor reliable against the incumbent Governor of Edo State, Mr. Godwin Obaseki who is also seeking re-election on the APC platform, will be disastrous for the party ahead of the September 19, 2020 Governorship election.
According to Chief Tunde Olagbunsi, “Tinubu has directed Oshiomhole to look out for another Aspirant with an unblemished record that should slug it out with the incumbent Governor of Edo State in order not to lose the election and drawn APC in the State.
“The challenge we are having at the moment is that it will be very difficult to sell Ize-Iyamu Candidacy to other leaders of the party because of the verbal exchanges between him and Oshiomhole in the past”, he declared menacingly.
To this end the Lagos State based politician had stopped funding Ize-Iyamu’s Governorship campaign.
