On Thursday, 3rd of June 2021, the National Working Committee of Team New Nigeria was received in audience for a strategic session by pan – African statesman and former Nigerian President, His Excellency, Chief Olusegun Obasanjo GCFR in His Oke-Mosan, Abeokuta residence.
The session is part of Team New Nigeria’s national consultative roadmap wherein at periodic intervals, prominent Nigerians who share the ideals of the founding fathers of Nigeria will be consulted as means of harnessing their respective experiences for nation building.
The strategic session with former President Olusegun Obasanjo GCFR focused on the need for a strong national agenda to be built for the promotion of national unity, patriotism and peace.
Team New Nigeria, led by National President, Dr. Modibbo Yakubun Farakwai discussed the circumstances leading to the formation of Team New Nigeria and the values held by the group
Former President Olusegun Obasanjo GCFR reaffirmed His unwavering commitment towards one Nigeria – a nation of patriots driven by balance, shared prosperity, national integration and mutual understanding cutting across tribal, social, religious and political inclinations.
He equally shared His thoughts on emerging trends in the national political space and advocated for more Nigerians to participate in partisan politics as means of influencing the leadership emergence process.
Team New Nigeria, led by National President, Dr. Modibbo Yakubun Farakwai discussed the circumstances leading to the formation of Team New Nigeria and the values held by the group.
He also shared details of the national rollout plan of Team New Nigeria with former President Olusegun Obasanjo GCFR; starting with the national book launch program for which the full participation of the statesman was requested.
Team New Nigeria is committed to the building of a brand new Nigeria devoid of hate, strife, political extremism and socio-cultural imbalances – a nation where citizens will live in peace, maximize their potentials and contribute effectively to nation building.
In furtherance to the national consultative roadmap of Team New Nigeria, consultations will continue to hold with relevant nation builders, statesmen and leaders of thought across the federation.
