To address epileptic power supply to rural communities,address blackout and securtiy challenges, The Director General,National Productivity Centre, NPC has donated a 500/33KVA transformer to Okpo, Olamaboro Local Government area of Kogi State.
This in addition to part of plans to extend similar gesture to other Communities in the state and Nigeria at large.
It is also coming few days after the donation and commisioning of similar projects in Ankpa town,Ejegbo community in Ankpa local government area.
The 3 Transformer were recieved and distributed to the most needy communities in Ankpa Local Government Area by the Local Government Chairman, Hon Ibrahim Abagwu.
The two adjoining communities covering Ibrahim Taiwo Road, Oturkpo Road in Ankpa town and Ejegbo was equipped with solar street lights that had returned life to the ancient towns from total darkness after over four decades.
The 3 transformers donated to the two communities will complement and boost electricity supplies by the AEDC in the area.
Aside boosting electricity and addressing securtiy challenges in the area,with the two transformers donated to Ankpa town and one to Ejegbo community, it will promote small scale businesses by artisans and other skill development.
