Development Bank of Nigeria Creates 1.2 Million Jobs, Disburses N482 Billion to MSMEs

The Development Bank of Nigeria (DBN) has made significant strides in supporting Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs), resulting in the creation of approximately 1.2 million jobs as of December 2023.

Under the leadership of Tony Okpanachi, DBN has disbursed N482 billion to over 208,000 MSMEs from inception to the end of 2021, demonstrating its commitment to empowering small businesses.

DBN’s achievements also include:

– Achieving the highest global rating of the Sustainability Standards and Certification Initiative (SSCI)
– Partnering with over 69 Participating Financial Institutions (PFIs) to expand its reach to MSMEs
– Providing technical assistance programs to PFIs and MSMEs to enhance their capacity and improve their chances of accessing finance

These accomplishments underscore DBN’s crucial role in driving economic growth and job creation in Nigeria. By supporting MSMEs, DBN is helping to build a more sustainable and prosperous future for the country.
