Aliko Dangote, President of the Dangote Group, has urged the House of Representatives to investigate the quality of petrol and diesel sold at filling stations across Nigeria. He made this call on Saturday, July 20, 2024, when he received the leadership of the House.
Dangote requested that the House set up a committee to test products at various filling stations nationwide, ensuring compliance with standards. He also sought an investigation into the quality of laboratories used to test imported products, comparing them to the facilities at the Dangote Refinery.
The business mogul denied claims by the Nigerian Midstream and Downstream Petroleum Regulatory Authority (NMDPRA) regarding the quality of petroleum products from the refinery and allegations of attempted industry monopoly.
The House leadership responded by calling for a probe into the allegations, ensuring the quality of petroleum products and promoting fair competition in the industry.
