Customer Compliant; FCCPC DG,Babatunde Irukera Begins Aggressive Camapigns

 

As part of measures of Federal Consumer Complaint Protection Commission FCCPC to curb sharp practices against customers and buyers by sellers and producers,The Director General,Chief Babatunde Irukera has recovered back funds of a refurbished and defective Lap top sold to a customer in Lagos .

The recovery by the Director General and it’s enforcement team of FCCPC was carried out at Chucks Pee Computers on Dewunmi Street in Ikeja Lagos.

According to the victim and customer of defective computer,few days after buying the Lap top from the customer ,it started malfunctioning with all the system not working .

“On the 6th of January 2020, I bought a new laptop HP Probook 450 G6 from Chuks-Pee computers in Ikeja. There, they did the setup of the laptop for me there and I got home to play Music and videos, nothing was working. I had thought there was a nylon on the speaker but none”.

He made a return of the Laptop to the sellers,and it was reconfigure,only for it to get worse than what was earlier witnessed

“I took it back the 3rd day which was 9th of January, the engineer there installed some drivers on the system which the audio worked but couldn’t find solution to the Video Player. Then I downloaded VLC to play my videos ignoring all works.
When I got home, Photos were not showing again, camera, @MicrosoftStore Wasn’t opening again”.

He commended the personal intervention of the DG FCCPC and his enforcement team ,after duely reported to the office in Lagos and my funds was recovered

“Today 16th, I brought it back to them and they said they will Reinstall another OS on it then it happened to be that the Laptop was refurbished”.

He said the company further attempted to carry out some repairs to no avail,but noticed some major crack on the Laptop,which led to his alarm to the FCCPC in Lagos

“Before leaving the house this morning, I took a picture of the laptop and there was no scratch on it but when they took it to their engineer, I saw a freshly carved scratch on it. “they said if they pack it for another buyer, they won’t buy it. ”

The FCCPC from January has begun the process of vigorous campaigns and enforcement of customers rights and privileges both in services and purchases to avoid customers being at the receiving end.
