Crisis Brews In Uni-Abuja Over Appointment Of New VC

Crisis is currently brewing in the University of Abuja over the appointment of a substantive Vice Chancellor.
Our correspondent on the education beat gathered that there were subtle moves by the University authority to appoint an external candidate to succeed Professor Micheal Adikwu as VC.
Investigations revealed that the governing council of the institution has already shortlisted 14 qualified candidates for an interview next week, after which the name of one successful the candidate will be sent to the President for approval and appointment as the next Vice-Chancellor.

Some senior lecturers who spoke to our correspondent on condition of anonymity explained that rather than choose from among 140 professors in the school, the chairman of the governing council Sani Maikudi is allegedly plotting to position an outsider for the plumb job.
