Following the pandemic coronavirus, politicians across the country have provided succours to their constituents in a bid to cushion the inconveniencies from the lockdown policy adopted by federal and state governments as a preventive measures to stop the spread of the virus.
Politicians within kogi state, ranging from local government administrators, commissioners, SAs, SSAs, state and federal law makers and others have donated either in cash or in materials to soothe the assuage of their constituents.
However, reverse is the case with the newly elected senator Smart Adeyemi who is representing Kogi west at the red chamber.
Senator Smart Adeyemi who defeated his closet rival, Dino Melaye at the supplementary poll was elected alongside with governor Yahaya Bello of Kogi state on Nov 16th 2019.
The senator who seemed not to bother with the efforts of his colleagues at giving their constituents some relieve materials during the lockdown period of coronavirus pandemic had refused to listen to the yeanings of his constituents at a time described as ‘critical’.
However, in what looks like an outbursts of people who felt disappointed with the lackadaisical attitudes of the representative, some social media users across kogi west have descended on the senator for failing to provide for the welfare of his people.
According to Kelvin Oluseyi Eleta who is a social critic, Senator Smart Adeyemi could be recuperating from debt used to finance his election and his cases at the court.
Reactions that trailed Kelvin’s opinion shows that Senator Smart Adeyemi is under attack for keeping quiet when his constituents are expecting him to dole out some relieve materials for them.
However, the senator has not deemed it fit to address the public on whether he will still do his own quotas to ameliorataing the pains of his constituents by providing necessary items that could help to resuscitate the hope lost in the senator.
As at the time this reports is made, Kogi west constituents are left without any attention from the senator, this to them is a total disappointment on the trust reposed in the senator.
