COVID-19: Agric Ministry spends N2.5 billion on land clearing

Documents obtained from the Federal Ministry of Finance have shown that Nigeria’s Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development has spent the sum of N2.5 billion on land clearing as part of its COVID-19 intervention programme.

The Agric Ministry says N2.5 billion that it expended on land clearing is for jobs and food for all, a project it executed under the 2020 COVID-19 intervention fund.

In the document made available by the Ministry of Finance in response to the Freedom of Information (FOI) request, a location the land will be cleared was not mentioned.
