Court To Hear Criminal Complaint Against Garba Shehu , Bashir Ahmed and Boss Mustapha on 30 June, 2020

by

On 27th April, 2020, Tope Akunyili commenced criminal proceedings against Garba Shehu (Presidential Spokesperson), Bashir Ahmed (Personal Assistant on New Media to President Buhari),

Boss Mustapha (SGF and Chairman of the PTF), Yusuf Sabiu (a.k.a Tunde), Special Assistant to the President Babagana Monguno (National Security Adviser, NSA), Ambassador Lawal Kazaure (Chief Protocol Officer),
Musa Haro Daura, a nephew to the President, Mr. Ahmad Rufai (Director-General of National Intelligence Agency), Senator Hadi Sirika (Minister of Aviation), Mr Geoffrey Onyeama (the Minister of Foreign Affairs),
Dr Aliyu Sani (the National Coordinator of the PTF) and Hajiya Dadiya Umar Farouq (Minister of Humanitarian Affairs, Disaster Management and Social Development).
The above named public officers erred on the side of the law when they flagrantly violated the restriction of movement and social distancing order of government on 18th April, 2020 at the burial of late Chief of Staff, Abba Kyari.
Notably, the Nigerian government which hitherto had prosecuted many offenders of law failed to prosecute the erring public servants, making me commence the criminal proceedings by way of direct criminal complaint.
Court has fixed 30th June 2020 for hearing of the case. I’m hopeful that justice will be served in this case.
