Couple Advised to Set Priorities in Marriage as Engineer Stephen Weds Queen Maria By Oyigu Elijah

The General Overseer of Charismatic Renewal Ministry (CRM), Dr. Cosmas Ilechukwu, has urged Christian couples to follow biblical principles in the management of their homes

He gave this counsel on Saturday in Abuja during the wedding ceremony of Engineer Stephen Baba, a civil engineer from Kogi State, and Maria Awan, a real estate expert from Cross River State.

In his sermon, Dr. Ilechukwu advised the newlyweds and other Christian couples to build their marriages on biblical foundations.

He emphasized that the Bible should be viewed as the only reliable manual for a successful marriage, asserting that all marriage-related questions have specific answers in Scripture.

Dr. Cosmas, who also serves as the National General Secretary of the Pentecostal Fellowship of Nigeria (PFN) and has been married for over 35 years, highlighted that causing harm to one’s spouse is equivalent to harming oneself, as the couple has become one body.

“You have become one. Therefore, your husband is yourself, and your wife is you. You are now one bone and one flesh. Hurting each other is like hurting yourself,” he said.

He encouraged Christian couples to establish workable priorities that align with God’s Word, adding that every Christian home should serve as a place of revival by God’s standard.

“Learn to set priorities and be determined to make them work. Marriage is sweet, but you must view it from God’s perspective, which includes love, care, commitment, and determination. Your home should be a theater of revival. That is God’s desire,” he added.

Engineer Stephen Baba, son of Hon. Patrick Baba, former commissioner for Kogi State Independent Electoral Commission, celebrated his union with Queen Maria Awan, a successful real estate mogul, former Miss Philanthropy beauty queen, and dedicated humanitarian from Cross River State.

Oyigu Elijah, an Infotech and Media Consultant, sent the report from Abuja.
