In what looks like a nollywood movie on Friday morning at the Nigeria Football Federation headquarter in Abuja, the officials of the Department of State of Services (DSS) stationed at the glasshouse and temporarily denied the operatives of Economic Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, to gain entrance into the building.
EFCC officials had completed their investigations of the corruption allegations on the NFF officials and were in the glasshouse to serve them their letter of invitation to the anti-graft agency’s office.
After hours of drama and arguments between the two government agencies, the EFCC officials finally gained entrance and served them letters.
The letter which contained invitation of the following NFF officials; president, Mr Amaju Pinnick, Barr Seyi Akinwunmi, Mallam Shehu Dikko, Ahmed Yusuf, Ibrahim Gusua, Felix Anyansi, Musa Duhu, Aisha Falode, Chidi Ofor, to report to the commission for an interview with the Direction of Operations, through the head CTPGIPS.
EFCC had put their appearance day to Wednesday, 18th, December, 2019 but the NFF said they can’t make it because they are having their Annual General Meeting.
In response, the NFF graciously requested that the interview be rescheduled for January, 2020 to enable them attend its Annual General Assembly holding in Benin City between Tuesday 17th and Wednesday 18th, 2019.
They added that the week of 23rd to 27th December, 2019 have been pencilled down for visitation to the offices of the sponsors in appreciation for their support in the outgoing year.
With the involvement of the DSS who were stationed at the glasshouse and disrupted the anti-graft agency from performing their duty, Nigerians are forced to ask the golden question.
Is this the reason why Abah Bichi the son of a DSS officer was included in the Nigeria’s Golden Eaglets squad?
