Adeyanju Petition, EFCC begins investigation on Akpabio, Pondei

The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) is set to begin investigation on the Minister of Niger Delta Affairs, Senator Godswill Akpabio and the Acting Managing Director of the Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC), Prof. Kemebradikumo Pondei over corruption allegations.
The head of EFCC Economic Governance Section at its headquaters, Mr. Adebayo Adeniyi, announced this in a letter addressed to a group, the Foundation for True Freedom and Good Governance.
The move followed a petition written by an activist and convener of the group, Comrade Deji Adeyanju.

Comrade Adeyanju had written the anti-graft requesting for a probe into the activities of the affected persons.
Mr. Adeniyi said the investigation will commence on Thursday, August 20, 2020.
It could be recalled that Prof. Pondei had fainted at the National Assembly during a public hearing on the alleged corruption at the NDDC by a House of Representatives Committee.
