Coronavirus: Enugu state, Report Suspected Case of Coronavirus

The Enugu State Government has reported a fresh suspected case of coronavirus (COVID-19).

Permanent Secretary in the state’s Ministry of Health, Dr. Ifeanyi Agujiobi, made this known in a statement on Sunday.

The authorities in Enugu have quarantined a 70-year old woman from Owerri, Imo suspected to be infected with Coronavirus.
The suspected COVID-19 patient, AbeyaNews gathered, had travelled to UK five months ago to see her children.
She came into the country on Wednesday March 11, 2020 and showed signs of fever , cough and mild respiratory distress.
Consequently, she was isolated at Colliery where doctors collected oropharyngeal and nasopharyngeal swab and sputum.
As at the time of this report, the samples had been dispatched to Irrua Specialist Hosoital, Edo State for test and possible confirmation of COVID-9 infection.
Meanwhile, the woman, AbeyaNews further gathered, is diabetic, hypertensive and has a peritoneal shunt.
She is being managed by a multi-disciplinary team from ESUTH, Parklane.
