A two-time Member of the National Assembly, Senator Dino Melaye, has felicitated with Nigerians and Christians in particular as they celebrate Christmas, the birth of Jesus Christ.

He said there was no better time than this season to reflect and demonstrate the virtues of sacrifice, love, humility, giving and forgiveness as exemplified by Jesus Christ.

A statement personally signed my Melaye on Friday, said this was the reason why the season is for practical demontration of love and universal goodwill through giving to the needy and sharing with others.

“It is important to be Christ-like at all times, this season is for both stock taking and demonstration of Christ’s virtues of sacrifice, love, humility, giving and forgiveness while we remain steadfast in prayers for our dear nation to overcome its present challenges of bad leadership and insecurity.

“However, we must not lose our guard as the 2023 general elections beckon. Enough of lamentations. We must act now by doing the right things and by holding our destiny in our own hands as one people and nation.

“The best and desirable leadership for the country cannot be gotten through ethno-religious sentiments given our experience as a nation. It’s time to resolve to get the best for ourselves come 2023 by voting pragmatic, truthful and competent people into office of governance,” Melaye said.
