Christmas : Kogi Former Deputy Governor, Simon Achuba Felicitates With Christians, Nigeria, Urges Prayers For The Country.

Kogi State former Deputy Governor, Elder Simon Achuba has called on Christians across the country to offer special prayers for greater peace, love, unity, peaceful co-existence and progress in the country, as they join the rest of the world to celebrate the birth of Jesus Christ today.

Achuba, in his Christmas message signed by his Chief Press Secretary, Akor Sylvester, said Christmas was a season to show love and care for one another, charging Nigerians to use the opportunity offered by the season to enthrone peaceful co-existence across the country..

The former Deputy Governor who believes that prayer is the master key to the problems faced by the country,, called for an end to all forms of violent crimes, including banditry, kidnapping, terrorism and insurrection that have become commonplace in the country and huge security challenge to governments at all levels and entire citizenry..

According to him, the birth of Jesus Christ, the saviour of the World, came with solutions to the problems of mankind. “We have nothing to fear because our saviour is born”, he said.

He further called on Christians, and indeed, all Nigerians, to reflect on the virtues and teachings of Jesus Christ in their lives and activities, adding that “the country will be better for it, when we seek the face of the Lord for all our problems”.

The former Deputy Governor congratulates Kogites for witnessing yet another Christmas season. advising them to use the festive period for sober reflections and total spiritual renewal and devotion towards living in peace and harmony with adherents of other religions.

He also urged them to celebrate and put into consideration the observance of COVID-19 protocols, especially with the emergence of omicron variant in the country.

He emphasised that Christmas is not just a time to engage in merry-making, but also a time to reach out to the less-privileged in the society, in line with the wish and teachings of Jesus Christ.

The former Deputy Governor maintained that the Christmas period provides opportunity for Christians to return to God and be steadfast in promoting the virtues of Christ, which are love, peace and harmony in all their endeavours..

He therefore enjoined Nigerians and Kogites to consider their neighbours and show them the love of Christ who is the reason for the celebration, while wishing them a fruitful celebration.
