Igala Vanguard has berated the paramount ruler of Igala Kingdom,Micheal Idakwo Ameh Oboni ll to return the gift of Roll Royce 2019 car,donated by the state government in exchange of chieftaincy title conferred on the governor and his cohorts
A statement issued by Engineer Lawrence Akpa, said it is a disservice to the Igala kingdom for Attah of Igala to exchange the welfare and well being of the people on the altar of car and monetary benefits
Engineer Akpa said several warnings and plea to the paramount ruler not to confer the title fell on deaf ears, because of the self centered attitude of the current custodian of our revered traditional stool
He said the decadence attitude of the paramount ruler will be resisted by his subjects and our fore fathers ,except his representation is pacified by his actions and inactions against the race
Akpa expressed disappointment on the fast erosion of Igala cultural prestige during the reign of HRH Micheal Ameh Oboni ll ,whose father’s reign was the symbol of honour and respect to the Igala kingdom in the last four decades
He averred that the reign of his offspring had brought about hunger,poverty, starvation,betrayal,killings and maimings of our people by foreigners,opposition to what the father represented during his reign as Attah Of Igala Land
The spokesman said the refusal of the most dreadful masquerade,’Ekwe’ and other nine heavily revered ones to honour the occasion, was a testament that the land has been polluted,desecrated by the current Attah of Igala land .
He urged the Royal Majesty to take quee from other traditional rulers from the West and Central were the governor hail from,that obviously did not align with bad leadership of the state Governor ,Alhaji Yahaya Bello
He said in the history of Igala nation,subjects have never resisted the paramount ruler of Igala kingdom, like the present dispensation, owing to his partisanship
Akpa insisted that Attah Igala has reduced the stool of Igala kingdom to an arm of Yahaya BelloOnoja’s adminstration,as posterity will pass judgement in due course
He described his reign as the worst thing that has ever happened to the Igala nation and kingdom ,urging the subjects to pray fervently not to see this ugly trend again.
