Former Kogi West Senator, Dino Melaye, has hit back at veteran musician and media personality, Charles Chukwuemeka Oputa, popularly known as Charly Boy, following the latter’s recent criticism of his extravagant lifestyle.
Charly Boy had taken a jab at Melaye over a viral video where the former lawmaker declared, “There’s no one else like me. I’m limited edition.” Reacting, Charly Boy insinuated that despite Melaye’s wealth, he may be dealing with emotional struggles.
He wrote, “This shows that even in the midst of luxury/obscene affluence, it is possible to be clinically depressed ,not all forms of mental illness are discernible”
In response, Melaye released a video on Facebookon Thursday, slamming the singer and accusing him of seeking relevance by mentioning his name. He also took a swipe at Charly Boy’s living conditions.
“I heard he has a leaking roof but he has no money to fix it. He places a whole big bike in front of his house like a statue and he doesn’t see that as a show off,” Melaye stated.
“He wanted to use my name to gain popularity because his destiny has been thrown inside freezer,” he added.
Melaye, who served in the 8th National Assembly, is often in the spotlight for his luxury cars and flamboyant lifestyle.
