CALSER Pass A Vote Of Confidence On Hajiya Sadiya Umar-Farouk, Humanitatian Affairs Minister Over Sustenance Of Government Policies

Centre for Africa Liberation and Socio- Economic Rights(CALSER),says the appointment of Hajiya Sadiya Umar-Farouk as the pioneer Minister of Humanitatian Affairs, Disaster Management and Social Developement by President Muhammadu Buhari was a round peg in a round hole, to drive the socio-economic developement of Nigeria.

The centre in a media statement released by it’s Executive Director,Dr Abubakar Gana expressed satisfaction with the choice of the Minister and the Ministry’s activities, towards addressing poverty eradication and victims of Boko Haram,flood ravaged communities,natural disaster,armed banditry and other insurgent attacks, will be a lasting legacies of the present administration.

According to Ajibola who stood in for the Executive Directior,the choice of Hajiya Sadiya Umar-Farouk had doused the general outcry of lack of political will on the part of government towards the vulnerable and provision of social services in Nigeria.

He says the response team of the new Ministry towards emergencies of Boko Haram attacks and other natural phenomenon is an indication of the choice of the new Minister as a well thought out decision.

He however warned detractors and critics of goverrment officials,programs and policies to steer clear of the patriotic efforts being deployed to ensure seamless social equilibrium in the country, by the new Ministry.

Sadiya’s strides in the distribution of palliatives during the world ravaged COVID-19, emergencies arising from natural and Boko Haram attacks,as well as a well refined social investement program policy, had being a subject of endorsement by many boidies,the recent one was from Citizens Rights Watch (CRW),and Centre for Aftican Liberation and Socio-Economic Rights (CALSER).
