Kings are not made but they are born,for the former PDP Governorship aspirant, Kogi state, His Excellency Chief Dr Joseph Ameh Erico was born into a high level mien of human development that metamorphosed into his career in politics cum political discourse both in Kogi state and at the National level.
Chief Erico as a grounded academic and security expert decided to join politics not in the usual way,but nuture his political career from the grassroots,from his unit and extended to others units in his senatorai district,spread to other two senatorai districts, that attracted his quest to become Kogi state Governor.
His program of politicking did not start just build up to the primary election of PDP in September last year,but soon after the 2016 election,to show by example that he is not a ‘food is ready’ politician.
Dr Erico sponsored virtually all party programs and activities even when his prefered party, PDP belongs to the minority/oppossiton in Kogi state,through funding of contestants and other party activities.
This was done without recourse to both immediate and long term benefits from the party,but on the basis of democratic norms,that believe that oppossiton is the ingredients of it’s practice.
When it comes to his Professonal callings,Chief Joseph Ameh Erico does not entertain undue interferences from his newly found hobby as a politician,to a security expert of high repute,with his privately and wholly owned outfit adored every nooks and crannies of the 36 states of Nigeria.
Chief Erico’s orientation is so polished and decent, that you hardly know that he is an employer of labour of not less than 15,000-20,000, with no single sign of a security officials either running after him or behind him, to despatch his numerous supporters/opponents.
Highly religious,responsible and responsive,meek, exposed,accessible and assessible,soft spoken,easy going,with no sign of ostentatious and unbreeded way of life sorrounding him and his activities.
Chief Erico was strongly positioned to become the governor of Kogi state in the last election,in inview of his rich resume,political overtures and politics of grand followership,as the system does not condone such decency in our political circle .
Very hospitable,accommodative,generous, charitable and unpertubed,Chief Joseph Ameh Erico can be approached on the street for succour as his life touching program knows no creed, religion,section,tribe or extraction as an employer of labour with international exposure.
His strong believe in the best practices and doing things rightly to achieve results,hence even when he lost the last September 4 primary election in Kogi ,he remained steadfast,as a strong party man.
He was well recognised with structures in all the wards,units and local government areas of Kogi state, especially the state capital Lokoja,who were ever ready to support his ambition to fruition before the turn of events.
Even at that,he handled most of the security arrangement towards the Kogi Governorship election for PDP and worked tirelessly with both cash and kind to ensure the victory of the party in the state.
Dr Erico prove cynics wrong that even though,his political ambition is not realised in the current dispensation,his accomplishment will spur him to further move ahead his desire to salvage the people of Kogi state and by extension,the entire country.
No doubt,he still believe strongly in a sane political environment that will guarantee a better result oriented political participation with spirit of genuine sportmanship.
As you add another year to your years on earth in the services to Humanity,it is my believe that your zeal to rescue the people is still unquenchable,as the people look up to you towards the movement to political eldorado in Kogi and Nigeria in general
