Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Nyesom Wike, has convened an emergency security meeting over the wave of violent crime plaguing the nation’s capital.
It was reported that recently, bandits have operated in the capital with brazen impunity. Just few days ago, several residents, including a 13-year-old Secondary School Student, were killed over failure to meet the deadline for ransom payment.
Speaking at the meeting, Wike has assured FCT residents that their safety is guaranteed.
He said the government was working to support security agents with everything they need to tackle insecurity.
The closed-door summit, still ongoing, has in attendance heads of security agencies in the FCT, top officials of the Federal Capital Territory Administration (FCTA), council chairmen as well as traditional rulers.
