There is palpable tension in Michael Okpara University of Agriculture, Umudike as angry students attacked the Vice Chancellor, Professor Maduebibisi Ofo Iwe over school fees increment.
In a video obtained by NewsBand Newspaper, some of the students were seen chanting solidarity songs.
The students went on rampage after the VC on Monday reportedly chased some of the students, mostly final year students away from the examination hall over non-payment of school fees.
This means that most of the affected final students will automatically have an extra year following the action of the VC.
A source speaking with this medium said that police operatives have been drafted to restore normalcy in the University community.
