Maiduguri, Borno State – President Bola Tinubu has directed the immediate evacuation of people from areas affected by the devastating floods in Maiduguri and other parts of Borno State.

The floods, triggered by the overflow of the Alau Dam, have left thousands of residents displaced and critical facilities like the Post Office and Maiduguri Teaching Hospital severely affected.

In a statement issued by his aide, Bayo Onanuga, President Tinubu expressed deep concern about the flooding and extended his heartfelt condolences to the government and people of Borno State, particularly those who have lost their means of livelihood.

The President assured Governor Babagana Zulum that the Federal Government is ready to collaborate to address the immediate humanitarian needs of the affected people.

He has also ordered the National Emergency Management Agency to provide assistance to the flood victims and remains committed to mobilizing federal resources to support the state during this difficult time.
