Breaking News: Senator Tahir Monguno Appointed New Senate Chief Whip

In a significant development in the Nigerian Senate, Senator Tahir Monguno has been appointed as the new Chief Whip, replacing Senator Ali Ndume. This change comes after the All Progressives Congress (APC) asked Ndume to leave the party following his comments about President Bola Tinubu.

Senator Monguno, representing Borno North Senatorial District, is a member of the APC and has a rich political history. Born on February 12, 1966, he began his educational journey at Monguno Central Primary School and later attended Government Secondary School. He studied law at the University of Maiduguri and was called to the Nigerian Bar in 1990 after attending the Nigerian Law School.

At the age of 26, Monguno was elected to the House of Representatives in 1992, marking the beginning of his political career. His appointment as Senate Chief Whip signals a new chapter in the Senate’s leadership, and his experience and expertise are expected to contribute to the chamber’s deliberations.
