Breaking: Man Utd break transfer record, agree £85m for Leicester defender Maguire

Manchester United have reached an £85million agreement with Leicester for Harry Maguire.
United had been significantly short of Leicester’s valuation of the player but have now met their £85m demands.

The deal eclipses the previous world transfer record for a defender, which was set by Liverpool when they spent £75m on Virgil van Dijk in January 2018.
United will pay a large fee upfront but the deal is likely to also include add-ons.
Maguire, who missed training on Monday after calling in sick, was left out of Leicester’s squad for Friday’s final pre-season friendly against Atalanta following talks with manager Brendan Rodgers because he is not in the right frame of mind.
