Breaking: FG meets JOHESU, promises to correct errors in Covid-19 allowances

A meeting scheduled for Wednesday between the national leadership of the Joint Health Sector Unions, JOHESU and officials of the Federal Ministry Health has ended with government promising to address grey areas in the ongoing payment of the Covid-19 hazard allowances.
The closed-door meeting which lasted about 2 hours, had in attendance the Minister of Health, Osagie Ehanire, the Minister of State for Health, Senator Mamora, top officials of the Ministry and the executives of JOHESU led by its National Chairman, Biobelemoye Josiah.
The meeting resolved that JOHESU should draw the attention of the Ministry, in writing, to the anomally identified in the implementation of the memorandum of understanding reached and to attach the list of workers not properly captured in the process
The meeting equally agreed that the memo should be submitted at the Federal Ministry of Health not later than Thursday, July 2, 2020.
JOHESU had threatened to begin nationwide strike should the Wednesday meeting fail to address irregularities in the payment of Covid-19 hazard allowance.
