Breaking: Explosion rocks Kano again, leaving dozens of civilians wounded

An explosion has rocked Sheka Quarters in Kumbotso Local Government Area of Kano State, injuring over 20 civilians and destroying shops

According media reports, the incident which occured at about 8pm on Thursday, was from a gas explosion at a Liquefied Petroleum Gas refilling shop in the area.

Further reports reveals that the gas exploded due to fire that started when a fish seller was frying fish near the gas refilling shop.

The Public Relations Officer of the Kano State Fire Service, Saminu Yusuf, confirmed the incident.

He said the 20 affected persons were rescued alive and taken to hospital for treatment.
