Breaking: Dangote Refinery Fuel: Marketers Announce Price per Liter

by

As Dangote Refinery prepares to commence the distribution of its first batch of Premium Motor Spirit (Petrol) into the Nigerian market, oil marketers have expressed concerns regarding the pricing of the product. Billy Gillis-Harry, President of the Petroleum Products Retail Outlets Owners Association (PETROAN), emphasized the need for transparency in the pricing process, highlighting that stakeholders should be informed about the price rather than relying on rumors.

Currently, petrol prices from the Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited (NNPCL) are around N870 per liter, and Gillis-Harry indicated that if Dangote’s petrol could be offered at a lower price, it would be welcomed by consumers. Abubakar Maigandi, President of the Independent Petroleum Marketers Association of Nigeria, echoed similar sentiments, stating that the price of Dangote’s petrol remains uncertain until NNPCL begins loading on Sunday.

Reports suggest that the price of Dangote Refinery’s petrol could potentially be around N766 per liter, but this figure has not been officially confirmed. As the situation develops, stakeholders and consumers alike are keenly awaiting clarity on pricing and availability.
