BREAKING: Abuja-Kaduna Highway Blocked as Protesters Overwhelm Security Operatives

Hundreds of travelers are stranded on the Abuja-Kaduna highway in Niger State due to a blockade by protesters, who have outnumbered security forces.

According to eyewitnesses, the protesters have been blocking the highway since morning, causing a gridlock that stretches several kilometers. The blockade is located near Gauraka Junction, between Aluminum Village and the nearby Zuma military barracks.

Abubakar Ibrahim, an Abuja resident traveling to Kaduna, told Daily Trust that his vehicle had been stuck for over two hours. “I left Zuba town before 10 a.m., but we’ve been stuck here at Gauraka Junction for about two hours. Protesting youths have blocked the highway,” he said.

Despite the presence of a few policemen, they appear powerless to resolve the situation due to the overwhelming number of protesters. The cause of the protest is currently unknown, but it has already caused significant disruptions to travel on the major highway.

This is a developing story, and we will provide updates as more information becomes available.
