The items are not to be shared among leaders of the religious bodies as the Government is actively monitoring and will sanction those who fail to deliver to vulnerable persons as directed.

Another group of religious organizations will be announced in due course as we intend to reach as many vulnerable persons as possible. We are concurrently distributing items through the state geriatric services agency, traditional rulers and presidents general of town unions as well as focused groups such as destitute homes through the office of Wife of the Governor.

Finally, it is very important that we all abide by the guidelines issued by the inter ministerial committee on COVID-19, especially with regard to staying at home, maintaining good hygiene and observing social distancing. People of our dear state must all come together to fight this war against coronavirus. If we all do our bits we will win this war and come out better and stronger.

Our frontline workers deserve commendation for the exceptional way they are diligently fighting to keep us safe even in the midst of threats to them and their family members. Our prayers are with them and all those who have in one way or another supported the fight against this disease through donation of food and protective materials to the people of our state at this trying time. While the outlook appears challenging, we must all draw strength from God and our inate humanity to push harder towards victory.

Thank you.
