Boosting National Security: Federal Government Approves Promotions for 20,867 Senior Personnel

The federal government’s recent approval for the promotion of 20,867 senior personnel across various agencies, including the Nigeria Immigration Service (NIS), Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), and Nigeria Correctional Service (NCoS), marks a significant advancement within these organizations. This decision, announced by the Minister of Interior, Dr. Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo, on September 13, highlights the government’s commitment to enhancing the operational capabilities and morale of these agencies.

In addition to the mass promotions, the government has also authorized special promotions for specific individuals: two officers from NCoS, four from NIS, two from NSCDC, and one from the Federal Fire Service (FFS). This initiative not only recognizes the hard work and dedication of these personnel but also aims to strengthen the overall effectiveness of the security and correctional services in Nigeria.
