No fewer than 109 Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps members in Nasarawa State have been trained by the Katsina State Agro Rangers outfit.
The officers are to combat cattle rustling, farmer-herders clashes and banditry in the state.
The Nasarawa State Commandant of the NSCDC, Mohammed Fari, who decorated the officers in Lafia on Monday, said the officers would also guard ranches.
He said, “ The 109 personnel were trained to guard ranches of any state that might be willing to establish one. They were also trained to counter terror activities in the country.
“Three Assistant Commandant Corps were elevated to the rank of Deputy Commandant Corps, while three Chief Superintendents of Corps got promoted to Assistant Commandant of Corps.”
He said the promotion was also based on the performances of the officers affected in the promotion examination.
Fari said,”The promotion was also based on the federal character principles.”
