BODYGUARDS FOR CATTLE: 109 Nasarawa NSCDC officials to guard ranches

 
No fewer than 109  Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps members in  Nasarawa State have been trained by  the Katsina State Agro Rangers outfit.
The officers  are  to combat cattle rustling, farmer-herders clashes and banditry  in the state.

The  Nasarawa State Commandant of the NSCDC, Mohammed  Fari, who decorated the officers in Lafia on Monday,  said the officers would also guard ranches.
He said, “ The 109 personnel were trained to guard ranches of any state that might be willing to establish one. They were also trained to counter terror activities in the country.
“Three Assistant Commandant Corps were elevated to the rank of Deputy Commandant Corps, while three Chief Superintendents of Corps got promoted to Assistant Commandant of Corps.”
He said  the promotion was also based on  the performances of the officers affected in the  promotion examination.
Fari said,”The  promotion   was also  based on  the federal character principles.”
