Security of lives and properties is the most important of leadership and development.
The number one responsibility of any government is the security of lives and properties of the people. This is well spelt out in our very fraudulent 1999 constitution.
How do we believe in your ability to transform our lives if you cannot work on keeping us alive?
You see this statements up here is true in a situation where our federalism fiscal, state police is functioning and the governor of each state can genuinely say that they are in charge of the security of their state.
It’s quite unfortunate that the present Nigeria security arrangement is a fraud, a deception and a setup that cannot secure even itself!
You can imagine calling a governor the CSO of a state when he cannot even give orders to a corporal or a sergeant. The loyalty of our civil security agencies like the Nigeria Police Force (Why are they putting force in their name?), The Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps is first to the bosses at the central.
Their orders comes from ‘above’. A Police commissioner can resume today in Oyo State and Abuja feel he is not right and he is transfered to Ebonyi the following day and the governor has no say or influence!
How do you manage the security of the state when you are not even in charge or cannot give instructions to the security agencies?
I said it after the #EndSarsNow protest was attacked and hijacked and people were killing police officers, freeing arrested and detained criminal, burning Police stations and stealing firearms that we are in for serious security issues.
I expected that the government at the federal level, the police service commission and other relevant agencies will review the operations of civil securities, unfortunately they didn’t.
When I heard that Hausa/Yoruba people were fighting in SASA, Ojoo in Ibadan, I wonder when we will overcome this crises. Hausa and Yoruba has always been fighting in SASA, this is not the first time.
The situation that led to the chaos this time around is not only inciting but also very sad while I commiserate with people that lost their lives and livelihood at the unfortunate event, I also urge the government to as a matter of urgency bring perpetrators of crimes to justice.
From Sasa to Obalende, to Abeokuta, to Akure to Benin City to Kaduna, the truth of the matter is that this country is tensed. It looks like we are at our breaking point (May we not break).
The anger in the bowels of an average Nigerian against some people in some parts of this country is so much that they have become livid and physical.
Many of our people do not know the difference between Hausa and Fulani. Some of our people do not want to understand that not all northerners are criminals, not all Fulani are killers.
What happened in SASA and Ojoo, Ibadan is a testimony to the fact that this country is stretched, tensed and something urgent must be done by the federal government led by Maj. Gen Muhammad Buhari
If nothing meaningful is done in the coming weeks, there might be a total breakdown of law and order in this country…
This country will not be able to withstand a reprisal attack on our people in the North.
Also, either you are a Hausa or Fulani, it seems to me that you are an “endangered specie” in the south. You have to be very careful in your dealings.
This is not a time to play or say politics.
1. Nigerian Civil Security System must be rejigged, redesigned and restructured to face our current realities
2. The national president of Nigeria must as matter of urgency wade in to the tension and anger in the bowels of Nigeria against themselves. We have never been this divided, hating and bitter towards each other.
