Angry protesters suspected to be supporters of the All Progressives Congress on Friday morning attacked the residence of Bayelsa governor-elect, Douye Diri, located on Imgbi Road, Amarata, Yenagoa, the state capital.

During the attack, they vandalised some vehicles in his compound and damaged parts of the building.

The attack came a few hours after the Independent National Electoral Commission issued a Certificate of Return to Diri in compliance with the verdict of the Supreme Court.
