Prince Babatunde Irukera is the current Chief Executive Officer CEO of the Federal Competition Consumer Protection Commission (FCCPC), transform from Consumer Protection Commission (CPC),largely on the initiatives of the current man at the helms of affairs to sustain, ensure and expand the scope of the all important agency.
Prince Irukera combined passion and professional wealth of experience to pilot,nurture the former CPC into it’s current fame of recognition not only in Nigeria,but outside the shores of the country.
With a humble background and zeal to achieve results,Babatunde Irukera had gradually ensured the wholistic reform and regulations of both consumers rights,suppliers and services inline with the mandate of the new Commission.
This is also in line with his strong believe in protection of rights and priviledges of ordinary Nigerians/humanity in the area of consumables,supplies and services as well as ensure a healthy competition between our indigenous and international competitors.
The positive developement had attracted commendation and recognition to the head of the agency both within and outside country, to the pride of ordinary Nigerians, whose rights are being trampled upon without reservation spread for decades.
A Lawyer,Politician and well groomed adminstrator per excellence,Irukera who grew through a wholly private sector driven idea and ideals is a founding partner,Simmons Cooper and partners,with a successful legal career outside the shores of Nigeria.
This feat was achieved as a committed member, an attorney, and doubles as Member of Nigerian Bar Association, American Bar Association,and International Bar Association.
The global reform and restructuring embarked upon by the leadership of the new FCCPC,under Irukera had been a major source of inspirations to many Nigerians who are now protected from the shackles of manufacturers, suppliers and producers.
A Prince of Egbe kingdom,he was born to the family of late traditional ruler,Oba Irukera,the Elegbe of Egbe in 1968 and graduated from the famous University of Ife with L.L.B. Hons in 1990.
He is married to Mrs Foluke Irukera from Ijumu and blessed with many children.
