Seven Nigerian soldiers were on Monday gruesomely murdered by bandits during a rescue operation in a forest along Mararaba-Udege road in Nasarawa Local Government Area of Nasarawa State, PREMIUM TIMES can authoritatively report.
The soldiers, who were killed in an ambush by the bandits, were from the 177 Guards Battalion, Shitu Alao Barracks, Keffi, Nasarawa State.
Abdullahi Sule, governor of Nasarawa State, which abuts Abuja, the Federal capital has raised an alarm over the regrouping of Boko Haram terrorists along the Benue/Nasarawa border.
He pleaded for urgent presidential intervention in flushing them out.
Sule stated this when he briefed State House correspondents after a closed-door meeting with President Muhammadu Buhari at the State House, Abuja, on Friday.
Meanwhile, the village head of Raddah community in Charanchi Local Government Area of Katsina State, Alhaji Kabir Umar has been kidnapped by gunmen.
The assailants were said to have operated for hours, carting away their properties and thereafter abducting the village head.
The same time Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, Ibadan zonal office, on Friday, January 22, 2021 arrested eleven suspected internet fraudsters popularly known as yahoo boys.
They were apprehended by operatives of the Commission who, acting on intelligence, swooped on their hideouts in Osogbo, the Osun State capital.
The Commission recovered twelve cars which include three Toyota Highlander SUVs, one Mercedes Benz GLK 350 SUV, One Acura SUV, two Honda Crosstour, two Toyota Venza and three other Toyota brands.
