In a significant development, the Attorney General of the Federation and Minister of Justice, Lateef Fagbemi (SAN), has taken steps to withdraw charges against 32 minors who appeared before Justice Obiora Egwuatu at the Federal High Court in Abuja.

Marshall Abubakar, the attorney representing all 119 defendants, announced that efforts are underway to dismiss the charges against the minors this week. This comes in light of the Attorney General’s request for the case file to be transferred, indicating a shift in the government’s approach to the case.

Abubakar stated, “The government has been calling; the AGF has called. I think, most likely, by next week (this week) we will get the charges thrown out.” This move highlights the ongoing commitment to justice and the protection of the rights of minors within the legal system.
