As Political Parties Are Scheming Over The Choice Of Candidates, It’s Time For Nigerians To Be More Inquisitive- JS Okutepa SAN.

Political parties in Nigeria are scheming and scheming to select their flag bearers for 2023 presidential elections.

I think time is now for us as Nigerians to begin to be inquisitive as to whom any of the existing political parties choose as presidential candidates.
We need to question the capacity and credentials of candidates of political parties for 2023. We are retrogressing as a nation. We have chosen hybrid technicalities to defeat justice in Nigeria. Nigerians are suffering manipulative oppressions in the hands of political class. Most Nigerians are not issue based inquisitive. We glossed over many bad things in leadership recruitment processes. And at the end Nigeria and Nigerians suffered terrible consequences in the hands of these leaders .
Those who ought to do what is right and to send the right signals have decided to wink at injustice with joy and gladness rooted in selfish interest. Many of the candidates being paraded in rumor mills suffer one forms of political deficiencies or the other. Many of these candidates have integrity questions marks. Many have baggages of corruptions on their neck. Many don’t seem to be fit and proper in terms of health and capabilities. Many are just out to emasculate us and milk our commonwealth.
Many have been around the corridors of power and cannot point out what make them qualified to be given opportunities of leadership. Many have corrupted our judicial process for selfish reason. Many murdered democracy and democratic processes to force themselves on us as leaders.
Many perverted the cause of justice to assume leadership positions in our land. As we approach 2023 the judiciary must be more dynamic and tolerant of electronic evidence to help restore electoral justice to our land. As lawyer I have a burden duty to assist the cause of justice. Prior to 2019 forensic experts were used to restored stolen mandates in our electoral jurisprudence. Vice President Prof Osinbajo SAN spoke eloquently on this the other day. In 2019 we got forensic experts to show massive frauds in the Kogi election. But the merit of that forensic evidence was not examined by those who have both the constitutional and statutory duties to do so. I have no slightest doubts in me that our forensic reports in our case was wickedly disregarded by those who had the opportunity to look at it. Posterity will not forget and forgive those who murdered justice to put us in this painful injustice in our case. As we approach 2023 leadership recruitment we must be very transparent and critical to get leadership with integrity and capabilities. We cannot continued to recycled those who directly or indirectly put us in the state of political and economic difficulties and underdevelopment to become leaders again. Nigerians and Nigeria must be free from those who have held Nigeria in the jugular. Let us have those leaders who mean well for the poor and the down trodden masses of this country.
