The vice chairman, Igala area traditional council and the New Ejeh of Ankpa ,Alhaji Abubakar Sadiq will be coronated soon.
This is contrary to insinuations that a High Court in Anyigba had barred the coronation ceremony as well asked the new traditional ruler to stop parading himself as Ankpa monarch.
Sources close to Kogi government circle confirmed that the delay might not be unconnected with the ongoing massive renovation of the palace by the state government.
Appointed about six months ago, the new Ejeh of Ankpa ascension to the throne of his ancestors was inline with the traditional requirements and the state government.
This had put to rest the insinuations and rumours emanating from some sections stopping the state government from going ahead with the event.
The New Ejeh of Ankpa was sighted in Lokoja the state capital as part of dignataries that welcomed some prominent traditional rulers from all walks of life, spiritual leader and President Jama’atu Nasir Islam of Nigeria, Sultan of Sokoto, Alhaji Mohammed Sa’ad Abubakar for the coronation ceremony of the new Ata Igala,HRM Mattew Alaji Opaluwa Oguche Akpa 11 being held in Idah today 4th March, 2022.
This is contrary to media speculation yesterday by THE REFLECTION that A High Court of Kogi State in Anyigba has restrained the State Government from proceeding with the planned coronation of Abubakar Ahmed Yakubu as the Ejeh of Ankpa in the state.
Funso Ajayi gave the order on March 2, 2022 while ruling on an interlocutory application filed by Musa Alhassan Akor (suing for himself and on behalf of members of the Oko, Ogbaje, Adokpa, and Akeyi ruling houses of Onu Enjema traditional clan in Enjema Distrcit of Ankpa Local Government Area).
Akor is, by the suit marked: AHC/7/2021, challenging Yakubu’s appointment as the Ejeh of Ankpa.
