Arsenal set to battle Tottenham for defender

North London rivals Arsenal and Tottenham are preparing to go head-to-head in the race for the signature of Bologna defender Takehiro Tomiyasu.

Tottenham were reportedly in pole position to wrap up the deal, but after their most recent offer fell just short of the Serie A outfit’s valutation of the defender, the Gunners could swoop in.

A report from Sky Sport Italia revealed that Arsenal have made their interest know to the Japan international, and he could be left to make up his own mind over where he sees his future.
