Our Lady Queen of Nigeria Catholic Church in Area 3, Abuja, celebrated a significant boost in its annual harvest thanksgiving, cultural day, and bazaar with a visit from the Archbishop of Abuja, His Grace Most Reverend Ayau Kaigama. The women coordinator of the church, Dr. Victoria Mary Pillar, praised the Archbishop’s presence and prayerful declarations, describing them as spiritually uplifting and a source of great encouragement for parishioners.
Reflecting on this year’s event, Dr. Pillar expressed enthusiasm about the Archbishop’s participation, noting it made this year’s bazaar more memorable than those in previous years. “The Archbishop was in Enugu, but for the first time, he came back and joined us for the harvest, moving from one stand to another, showing his support. For us, this year is better than any other year,” she remarked.
Dr. Pillar emphasized the importance of the harvest and thanksgiving celebrations, drawing parallels to the biblical story of the ten lepers, where only one returned to thank Jesus after being healed. She highlighted the significance of celebrating the harvest of abundance in 2024, especially considering the economic challenges, as a testament to the resilience and gratitude of the community.
In her closing remarks, Dr. Pillar encouraged women to continue worshipping God with sincerity and trust, reassuring them that relying on God, who never disappoints, is paramount in their lives.
