APC will retain power in Kano by hook or crook, says chairman Abdullahi Abbas

The chairman of the All Progressives Congress, APC, in Kano, Abdullahi Abbas, has vowed that the party would retain power in the state by hook or by crook.

Mr Abbas made the avowal on Wednesday at the flag-off of the party’s campaign in Gaya Local Government Area of the state.

According to him, nobody should contemplate defeating the APC, being the ruling party, in whatever guise.

Mr Abbas noted that the large turnout of people at the rally was a clear demonstration that the APC is poised to win the 2023 election from top to bottom.

He said: “People are saying that I should stop saying the APC will capture Kano by hook or crook. I want to tell this gathering that the APC will capture Kano by hook or crook.

“We have today demonstrated our resolve of winning the election from top to bottom come the year 2023.

“Gaya, as you know is the home of APC; no political party can match our strength and our clout. We are determined to take the bull by the horn in maintaining our dominance. Gawuna is our candidate, and he is going to be the next governor of Kano State.”

In his remarks, the APC gubernatorial candidate, who is also the deputy governor of the state, Nasiru Gawuna, said that with the support of the governor and other chieftains of the party, his victory is already destined by God.

“I want to believe that my destiny is in the hands of God and I have no iota of doubt that with God’s will, nothing will stop me from winning the race.

“Our party still remains formidable and vibrant and we are also willing to remain steadfast in face of all odds,” he added.
