APC Governors Urge Nigerians to Call Off Planned Protest

The Progressives Governors Forum (PGF), comprising All Progressive Congress governors, has appealed to Nigerians to shelve the planned protest against President Bola Tinubu’s government, scheduled for August 1-10.

Chairman of the Forum, Gov. Hope Uzodimma of Imo, made the appeal after a closed-door meeting with governors in Abuja. He emphasized the need for stability, citing challenges like insecurity, national minimum wage, food security, and economic recession.

Uzodimma advised young Nigerians not to be instigated into causing chaos and urged citizens to take ownership of the country. He invited protest supporters to discuss issues and proffer solutions, committing the progressives to unity, prosperity, and job creation.

The governors expressed support for President Tinubu’s policies and reforms, urging Nigerians to be patient as efforts are underway to address economic hardship.
