APC Chieftain Urges President Tinubu to Alleviate Nigerians’ Hardship

A prominent member of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Osun State, Olatunbosun Oyintiloye, has appealed to President Bola Tinubu to take swift action to mitigate the suffering of Nigerians. In a statement released on Sunday, Oyintiloye highlighted the dire circumstances faced by many Nigerians, emphasizing the need for prompt implementation of relief strategies.

While expressing confidence in President Tinubu’s ability to address the situation, Oyintiloye suggested that faster approaches should be adopted, particularly in light of the economic challenges posed by rising fuel prices. He urged the President to remove bureaucratic obstacles hindering the swift implementation of policies benefiting the masses.

Oyintiloye also expressed concern about the non-implementation of the President’s directive to suspend customs duties and taxes on imported food items, announced two months ago. He stressed that the initiative’s implementation should not be delayed, as it aims to combat rising food inflation.

The former lawmaker recalled that the Comptroller-General of Customs, Bashir Adeniyi, assured the public that the policy would be implemented once guidelines were finalized. Oyintiloye urged those drafting the guidelines to complete the process without further delay, hoping that the initiative would lower food prices without affecting local production.

He also called on Nigerians to continue supporting the President, noting that while some policies may seem painful in the short term, they would bring significant benefits in the long run.
