Joe Igbokwe, a prominent member of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Lagos State and a supporter of President Bola Tinubu, has expressed deep concerns about the rising cost of living in Nigeria, particularly highlighting the price of rice, which he claims has reached N100,000 per bag. In a recent Facebook post, Igbokwe lamented the economic hardships faced by citizens and suggested that the leaders needed to address these issues have yet to emerge.
Igbokwe, who has been involved in Lagos politics since 1999, has recently shifted his stance and become more vocal about his dissatisfaction with certain policies of the Tinubu administration. He previously criticized the significant increase in electricity tariffs, stating that the cost of electricity has become unsustainable for businesses. He shared his experience of purchasing N20,000 worth of electricity units that lasted only a day, urging the government to take immediate action to alleviate the financial burden on citizens.
His comments reflect a growing concern among Nigerians regarding the economic challenges they face, and they underscore a potential rift within the APC as members grapple with the realities of governance under Tinubu’s leadership.
