Alhaji Iyodo Inuwa Ocheje, a retired seasoned civil servant,who left the services of the Federal government at the top echelon of National Pension Commission, NPC, popularly known as PENCOM,after a successful career job before his retirement age.
Iyodo built a robust civil service career span for over three decades, managing the chunk of remittance of National Pension Commission NPC fund deductions, remittances into the commission, running into trillions with ease both from the private and public establishments.
Iyodo’s career in the public service started as Chief Accountant 1 with the office of the Accountant General of the Federation attached to the Federal Ministry of Industry,with unimpeded career progression as Chief Finance Officer,Assistant Director Audit,Assistant Director (Finance),to Nigeria Investment Promotion Commisssion NIPC, and later became pioneer Head, Finance Department of the National Pension Commission NPC(PENCOM) ,then, rose to Assistant General Manager, responsible for operational structure of the Department,Schedule of Duties of Staffs, initial Manuals of Account & Audit.
He later became Deputy General Manager DGM in charge or Finance Department, with Financial Management functions,and General Manager GM with scope of Financial Management and Functions, which included Budget and Budgetary control, Financial Records and Reporting, as well as Financial Planning and Advisory .
Worthy to note was that as the pioneer Head of accounts in NIPC,he single handedly put in place the Finance Department structure of the agency,during his stint in the civil service.
As a trained accountant that later became chattered as member of ICAN,he brought to bear his wealth of experience and fiscal discipline into public accounts and later private entity.
A Fellow of the Institute of Chattered Accountant (FCA), and also a Chattered member, The Institute Of Certified Public Accounts (CPA).
Fellow,Institute Of Credit Administration (FICA), Member,Associate of the Chattered Institute of Taxation of Nigeria(CITN), and became Doctor Of Science(Corporate Administration)- Honoris causa(DSC),with certificate in Corporate Governance Alumni of INSEAD among others.
Chief Iyodo became a recipient of an award for Pioneer staff in recognition of the contributions towards the establishment of National Pension Commission NPC(PENCOM),as well as Aresty Scholar Award-University of Pennsylvania USA
He attended other Professional and Executive Management courses in Nigeria,Ghana,U.K.USA.that dwell on Budgeting, Financial Management, Investments, Leadership, Executive Management, Corporate Governance, Negotiations & Decision Making, Strategic Business Leadership, including International Directors Program(IDP)26.INSEAD. in Fontainbleau,France.
Among his biodata,Iyodo is widely travelled, that exposed him to many intricacies of job initiatives’ and completion in line with the best practices. Having visited about 14 countries both official and private to acclamatise with the scope of developement, and replicated same in Nigeria.
While in service,Chief Iyodo was deeply engaged in various adhoc duties,including Presidential and Ministerial committees which he performed creditably well, both on panel, investigation,special committee of various government Parastatatals, Departments and Agencies, including a UNDP sponsored program,as program accountant in Nigeria.
This developement earned him many National and International honours/recognition in all his endeavours, during his service years and now in the private practice, well recognised personality in Accounting, Auditing and Consulting business.
Iyodo public service years was greeted with unblemish and highly transparent records of service, that is now a reference point to many who came after his exit from service.
It is also on record that he left the public service with a clean records of service, that later retired into a private practice with high callibre of personel and staffers.
Iyodo is the founder of Vectar Consults and Affiliate in Affiliation with Nexia,Abel Agbo & Co. A firm of Accounting,Auditing and Consulting.
So also the Managing Partner, Audit Assurance,Financial Advisory Services,Risk Management and Training.
Combining his new private practice to his acquaintance with well meaning Nigerians,,the chattered accountant did not allow his official engagements in Auditing of Books of high profile public organisations,Agencies and Departments to interfere with official engagements.
His flare for interaction does not preclude him from ensuring a clean records of books and services in the public service, and by extension organised private sector including Multinationals, by ensuring year in year out clean books in various organizations.
Iyodo whose high profile Accounting,Auditing and Consulting firm had contributed in both financial and fiscal discipline, is currently making more impacts in resources Management, deployment and expenditure.
A high class beaded Chief in Igala kingdom,Chief Iyodo Inuwa has brought to bear his traditional experience and stool to better the lots of the Igala kingdom and it’s citizens.
