Akwa Ibom: Arewa people rolled out drums to celebrate their own.

It was all pomp and ceremony as the Arewa Community in Akwa Ibom State gathered to celebrate their Chairman, Mr Emmanuel Ogbole, on his appointment as The Special Assistant To The Governor on Project Monitoring.
The event was kicked started with an opening prayer by one of the members, Pastor Menasara.
Playing host to the delegation, the Chairman, thanked his boss, Governor Udom Gabriel Emmanuel for finding him fit for the appointment.
He described him as an astute politician, who plays ethical politics rather than politics of ethnicity.
A keynote lecture was delivered by Barrister Ibrahim Mohammed on the topic: *”The need for peaceful coexistence among the Arewa Communities and the Host Communities”
The Speaker of Akwa Ibom State House of Assembly, Rt.Hon. Aniekan Bassey, who graced the occasion, described the host as a brother and a friend and encourage the Arewa community to continue to give him the needed support to succeed in his assigned duties.
He also told them that Akwa Ibom State remains a safe haven for residents including non indigenes to go about their legitimate businesses devoid of rancor.
Other dignitaries who spoke at the event were: The Sarki Hausawa and Vice President General of The Supreme Council for Islamic Affairs, Alhaji Hassan Sadauki; The Chief Imam of the Akwa Ibom State Central Mosque, Mallam Bello Dahiru Mohammed; The Dean Faculty of Environmental studies, University of Uyo, Prof Best Ochigbo; Major Manga Rtd, amongst others.
